GIF Resizer is built on a foundation of privacy-first principles. We believe your files and data belong to you alone. This policy explains how we handle (or don't handle) your information.

1. Local Processing

Your files never leave your device. All GIF processing happens entirely in your browser using WebAssembly technology (ffmpeg.wasm).

• No file uploads to our servers
• No server-side storage or caching
• Neither we nor third parties can access your files
• Processing occurs in your browser's memory only

2. Analytics and Tracking

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our site. This helps us improve the service.

What we track:

• Page views and navigation patterns
• Anonymous usage statistics (file sizes, dimensions)
• Feature usage (presets, tools used)
• Error occurrences (for debugging)

What we DON'T track:

• File names or content
• Personal information
• IP addresses (anonymized by Google)
• Precise geolocation

3. Advertising (Google AdSense)

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on this website. Advertising helps keep all of our tools free to use.

• Third-party cookies: Google and its advertising partners use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to serve and measure ads. These third-party vendors may set and read cookies on your browser when you visit this site.

6. Data Retention

We don't retain any of your files. Since all processing happens in your browser, we have no files to retain. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' default retention policy (14 months).

Our architecture is inherently secure:

• No file transmission means no interception risk
• HTTPS encryption for website access
• Open-source processing (ffmpeg.wasm is auditable)
• No server-side attack surface for your files

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Use the service without providing any personal information
• Decline or withdraw consent for analytics and advertising cookies at any time (see "Cookie Preferences" in the footer)
• Block analytics and advertising cookies in your browser
• Opt out of personalized ads via Google Ads Settings
• Request information about any data we might have (spoiler: we don't)
• Request deletion of analytics data via Google

9. Children's Privacy

Our service is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has used our service and we've inadvertently collected analytics data, please contact us.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of any changes.
